Blah, Blah, Blog...

Well it's a new year and it's finally time for my first blog of the new school year. All my classes seem to be pretty good and I have enjoyed having you all thus far. So what has stood out to you so far in this class? Have there been any discussions or activities that really interested you? What about the 9/11 activity on Friday? Did you think the debate was worth the time or was it just pointless? I felt like a lot of good discussion took place. I was actually proud of the way you all handled yourselves, I almost thought some of you were actually adults for a moment (Peter, Antonio, Allison, etc...) . Heck, we even got Matt Cruise to get his head off of his desk for more than five minutes on Friday (we weren't so lucky on Monday). I liked Joel's article on terrorism and it turned out to be a point of discussion in all my other classes. I will post a link to it when he emails it to me, if that ever happens. It was fairly quite during discussions in 3rd period Monday, but I'm not sure if that's because it was Monday or the fact that Meaghen was absent. I did lecture so well in 3rd that Cris Cox got a nose bleed. I crammed so much information into his brain and he learned so much that it overwhelmed him. Heck, it was so awesome that I even had Dr. Love begging everyone to be quite so he could hear me lecture. That's how real teachers do it.

Czar Ramsey out!!

Your discussions are always interesting, Ramsey, even if I'm asleep, I swear I'm still listening. And for the activities, they're all been great except for the LOST one. Too hectic... I wasn't here for Friday's discussion, but I'm sure whatever it was, it wasn't pointless.

So that's it...

what has stood out for me i guess has to be your enthusiasm for the class. the discussion i liked the most probably was the 9/11 one, then again i cant really remember much of the others. i also believe the debate was worth it; it was interesting to hear everyone's views.

So coach ramsey, I think your lectures are slightly boring, its okay, I don't expect much out of a mets fan, anyway, I did enjou the 9/11 discussion, anywho JV in coach ramsey's class

The discussion (well I wasn't there for Friday) but it was pretty cool. Sort of intense though. And the letter was definitely difficult to write for me, at least.

The best part of the class though is the fact that we have fun even though we're learning about something sort of boring!

The idea of having debates is great, I'm just not a fan of the topic you chose.

the whole 9/11 activitites were pretty good, the debate was worth the time even though our class period was quite agreeing. all in all i think the activities are pretty good! execpt we all know that the "Awesome Colluded Tower Of Awesome!" was by far the greatest game/activity ever created.

Ramsey,
That 9/11 video was pretty cool. It made me feel for these people on the planes. The debate was pretty heated with Matt's republican views, but it was alright.

Allison Keesecker said...

haha well Ramsey i might just be alittle smarter than you think.. but it just so happens that 9/11 is one of the most interesting topics to me.. i consider that to be the darkest day in history EVER. thanks for including me in your blog =]i love your class =]

The 9/11 activity and the debate was worth the time because it kind of made people really think about things we don't normally think about. Some people really just don't know how bad things are with the war. Sadly, some people don't know a war is even going on. I think discussing these things helps alot.

well, i wasn't here on 9/11 because i had food poison BUT i heard the video and lecture went really well. i did like the fact that you brought up how sterotypical people can be when they see muslims. just because someone is muslim doesn't mean they are a terroist.

the debate on friday has probably been my favorite, well one of my favorite parts, so far. everybody actually participated withh some intellegence to what they were saying too. which can sometimes be hard to find first thing on any morning. but pretty much, keep on keepin on rams!

I think debates are a great way to keep us interested in the class material. I really liked listening to everyone debate their points, even though I didn't talk much myself. I know you said you would rather us tear each other apart than not care. It's not that I don't care, I just find myself seeing both sides so equally that it's hard to take one.

The best thing we've done so far is the children's book. haha Activities like that are a lot of fun and I hope we have more of them. I really enjoy the debates also. It helps give us a new perspective. The 9/11 activity was important and I'm glad we did it. Its weird to think September 11th happened way back in 4th grade. Its soo important that we never forget what happened and those who lost their lives.

i like your class! discussions are always fun to listen to ad hear other peoples opinions. the 9/11 thing was ok. i like the video but the letter was killer haha.

i really like the class so far..i think your lectures are really good and they're pretty interesting. i always laugh during 2nd period whether it be because of you or madi haha. the 9/11 activity and discussion was very emotional but i thought it was good that we did it.

Meagen said...

Even know i was not there that day. I would like to say thank you for remembering, 9/11 was so many years ago you never really hear people speak of it any more, and that's sad. The people who lost there life would love to know that a teacher spends a whole day just to 9/11. Not many teachers would do that. But you did and thank you some times people just need to remember.

Thank you,
MEAGEN berry.

ITS meagen. that's how you spell it.

Coach Ramsey,
I have really enjoyed your class so far and I have a lot of fun in second period. I have enjoyed the discussions and doing the children's book, & I cannot wait to make our awesome video! I was absen't for the 9/11 discussion but I wish I could have been there. Love the class Ramsey, see you tuesday. Hope UT wins for you this weekend.

You may talk a lot but what you have to say is always interesting. That's probably why I enjoy your class so much. Especially being the junior of the class, your enthusiasm made me feel comfortable. As far as your debates, the 9/11 talk was interesting. It was cool to hear people's views on the war and on terrorism. It was interesting to think what make a person a terrorist. If it is someone that is passionate about their cause, then I would say we all are terrorists in a way.
I also liked that letter we had to write. It was hard, but good to make you think about what's really important.

Marlene W said...

I really like your class even though we don't do anything. I liked the 9/11 discussion. I think you should keep assigning the 9/11 letters.

Discussions and lectures are good, generally more interesting and involved than other classes I've had. Though that could be because I just get back from surgery so I'm generally awake anyhow. The 9/11 activities were necessary and worth the time spent on them. Late posting is the cool thing to do obviously.

P.S. I believe Diversity was an old, old wooden ship used during the civil war era.

first off the movie was tight (tight meaning good) like it made the class realize what a real tragedy it really was.
