I didn't remind you guys in class today (2nd Block) to respond to the blog. Even though I did mention it in class on Thursday, I will give you until Tuesday to respond. I thought you all did a fantastic job debating in class today. You conducted yourselves like adults, probably more so than many of our politicians. I think these types of discussions are extremely important, even if you don't agree with everything that is being said. Just because we disagree about an issue, we don't have the right to treat each other like trash. I think that is a big problem in government today, this whole us versus them phenomenon that seems to be growing stronger and stronger. In the end, like both Obama and McCain stated, we all fly under the same flag. That being said, how do you all feel about the discussion today? Did anything discussed particullarly interest you? Are there any topics you wanted to talk about that we missed? Once again, let me say that I am extremely proud of how you conducted yourselves today, and that makes me much more likely to try fun and informative things in the future. Until next time, you stay classy Science Hill!

>> Your fault on the blog thing Ramsey, you told us it'd be up Thursday night. Anyway, the discussions where a lot of fun! I really loved how a lot of the people you'd never expect to have good opinions, really did. That debate really showed the best in a lot people, Zack, for example, had many good points. That little debate between me and him during that whole thing really surprised me that he'd thought that far ahead. Like I said though, many of our fellow students, Gantt, Jeff, Mary, (I think her name is,), all had very interesting opinions. Like I told you at the end of class Ramsey, I walked in there with a completely different belief on who'd I vote for and why, than when I walked out.
I still say USA is royally 'screwed' either choice we make involving the war. =D
Now if the presidential canidates will start letting the people know of their actual plans.. this election would surely be in the favor of he who does.
Well cya Monday Ram-z! Hope we have another discussion/debate like that again soon, it was a blast. XD I took notes to keep up with everyone's opinions that I had something to say about. lol
Cya! Ramsey Rules!!!
Well, I think I gave a pretty good impression of my openion on Friday.
I enjoyed this e-mail I got so I thought I'd share.
John McCain and Barack Obama somehow ended up at the same barbershop.
As they sat there, each being worked on by a different barber, not a word was spoken.
The barbers were even afraid to start a conversation, for fear it would turn to politics.
As the barbers finished their shaves, the one who had Obama in his chair reached for the after shave.
Obama was quick to stop him saying, "No thanks, my wife, Michelle will smell that and think I've been in a whorehouse."
The second barber turned to McCain and said, "How about you? After shave?"
McCain replied, "Go ahead, my wife doesn't know what the inside of a whorehouse smells like."

Czar Ramsey just making sure I had to write a blog post this weekend, and hopefully this week will be better for our class than last week and I started my own blog to check it out the url is http://lelander.tumblr.com see ya czar viva la superman
A lot of my opinion rests on what happens to our troops in foreign countries. I sympathize with soldiers first and politics second, always have. They're the ones on the business end of a lot of our major issues, so when a decision comes down from the White House, I want the one in charge to make his decisions with them strongly in his mind, whoever it turns out to be.

i really liked the debate on friday because i got to see the different views and ideas form everyone in the class. I think we should have more...
I enjoyed the debate in class. Um, im for Obama all the way even tho i might not agree wit everything he says i dont want another bush for president.

i think the debate was really good on Friday and it really showed how differently people think...I personally think McCain would be a much better President and that he could really be a true leader that was good for this country...Obama just seems a little 2 ify for me
I thought the debate was very good Friday. It was a lot calmer than I expected, I thought people were going to get a lot more heated up than they were.
"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

I enjoyed our discussion Friday but I believe that if everyone read and lived by the above quote that it would have been more founded. None of the "Well I heard through the grapevine so I'm going to argue it to make myself sound smart." That is all. Though I would like a moral discussion such as abortion. To see how heated we can get without killing each other. :)

Hey, Ramey i do not know much about football, but all i know about the elections is that obama is winning.
Hopefully my comment will work this time.
I really enjoyed listening to the points of everyone in the class. It was much calmer than I was expecting. Which was quite the disappointment.
Zach took the one statement that I wanted to make. It was that even though you may disagree with President Bush you cant ignore the fact that since 9-11 there has been no attacks inside America. Im not going to say he is perfect and there is no need for any change. But, he is obviously doing some things right. So we have to be even more careful when picking our candidate for president.

The debate was really interesting. Chase made some really well thought out points that were really well said. So did everyone else that participated. Personally, I don't know how it would feel to have a loved one at war so I can't say for sure, but my thoughts are we have to finish something we started. There could be newfound things we're discovering every day and that's the reason we are still, to this day, over there. I hate war and wish there was no such thing, but sometimes we have to fight for what is ours and stand strong.
YO ALL I GOT TO SAY IS THAT I LIKED THE DEBATE AND EVERYTHING BUT IM JUST NOT FOR THAT F A G IM STICKIN TRUE TO MY BOY AND IM NOT GOING TO CHANGE MY MIND AND IF PEOPLE DONT LIKE THEN THEY CAN TAKE IT UP WITH ME THE END
so hopefully my comment will work this time. i thought the debate was really great. although i just sat back and watched i just wanted to see how everyone would react and get other opinions. im for mccain all the way.. well more for palin then mccain but oh well. i really hope we have more debates!
great blog. it's interesting to hear others viewpoints on the election.
i think obama should win cause he is awsome
YO RAMSEY
get that zero off my grade sheet homie!
GO MCCAIN
GRIZZLE
I wasn't there for the debate. I was most likely sleeping at that point...
This isn't really relevant to the blog, but I'm excited about the debate(s) that we're going to have soon on Capital Punishment and Abortion. I'm sure those will be pretty interesting.

Why can't I see any of the comments I've left on other blogs? I need to seem them because I don't remember my username and THIS IS BAD. I can't remember exactly how I decided to misspell my name.
Hey Coach Ramsey!
I thought that the discussion in class today was very exciting. I think we should have more discussions in class due to the imput the students make so that everyone else can see others' perspectives on the subjects we are learning at the time. I learned a lot of different things this week and i think we pretty much covered it all in class today. Have a great weekend
so friday we talked a lot about rena's life. not really much about the election. but discussing that was really interesting. so we should do that again
well, our class didn't really debate so much... we kind of just talked to Rana, which i enjoyed ! i think people need to hear both sides to sometime like 9/11 . i still doni't know who i'm voting for ( or who i would rather, because i can't vote ) but to be completely honest i don't really like talking about politics. i don't like conflict and like it or not, something negative will always be said about someone else's opinion :-/ i like listening to other people opinions though so i can learn new things and not be so tunnel-visioned.
heyyyy
well i think i would have liked the debate a lot, but we all got real into hearing about Rana's life. which was sweet. but i'm looking forward to the debate if we get to do it. and you'll see that im totally for McCain, and i will definietly be speaking my opinion on all that. But see ya laterr
Okay in my class the debate went well. and of course everyone is going to vote for OBAMA because he is the bomb.. lol.. McCain is going to die in office and then we are gonna have that alaskan running the country. her plate is already full and I don't want our country in her hands.
Peace
-Danica
i'm pretty sure i skipped friday's class, so i didn't get to debate. well, bad karma blew up in my face because as i sped away from school, my windows were open and my friend left her sweet tea on top of the car. so we had to take a pit stop at mcdonald's and borrow a few thousand napkins. well, see you in school coach ramsey
i really liked our discussion today and how we all discussed the presidency. I think both presidents have lots of good qualities and hopefully the best man will win. Im mostly pulling for McCain because i think he has the most experience and will do the best for america.
Isn't it supposed to be "one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all."?
And yet we always have 2 parties going at it..
Hello Coach. I am for Obama. thats pretty much it.
I know thats rite STOCKS RULE!!!!
