Better Late Than Never!!!

I am sure I am going to hear about this on Monday. I'm sorry I didn't get this posted sooner, I haven't been feeling good this weekend. Anyway, I guess I'll give you till Wednesday to respond. I have like 22 comments to moderate so don't freak out if you don't see your comment yet. Ok, well I really enjoyed class on Friday! I thought all three of my classes did an excellent job. Zach even asked a good question for once!! I thought 3rd block turned out to be very good, with Rena taking over the teaching duties for the period. I thought she did an excellent job and handled herself extremely well considering the tough questions that were asked of her. I found it extremely interesting to hear things from her unique perspective. That is exactly the type of thing I want going on in my classroom and is a perfect example of what I talked about on the 2nd day of school regarding open-mindedness. What was your take on class for Thursday and Friday? What did you think of the video? What about the discussions that resulted? Anyone want to share their hope for 50 years from now? How would the 40 passengers of Flight 93 want us to respond to our current situation? Do we owe those 40 passengers anything or do we simply accept their sacrifice and move on? Do the Vols have any shot against Florida this weekend? Check out the poll for more on that!! See you all tomorrow!

Czar out!

Tsk tsk Ramsey your late :P hope you feel better! I believe the debate was very interesting and its nice to hear others views on the war. The video was sad, but its good to be informed. My hope for the future is more open-mindedness. I think that our nation has shown itself to be greater that the rest, not in ammunitions and military prowess but in spirit and unity. With time we can heal the wounds of 911 and be at peace with our fellow nations again. Maybe im a little too optimistic, but thats my hope :). See ya tomorrow,

the movie was very good. it is an amazing story! during a day of chaos and destruction, these everyday americans came together to defeat an act of terrorism. the passengers and crew of flight 93 will always be remembered. as for the war, i don't really know what we should do. the government should just do what they feel is best for the people. i hope that the vols murder tim tebow!

ahhh late shame shame, and your not supposed to collect our late work anymore

anyways the debate, or friendly discussion, whichever you wanna call it was fun, its good to hear other peoples oppinions on important matter every once and awhile. THe video was very moving, i usually get goosebumps when i see videos from 9/11 and the plane crashes... anyways VOLs won, USC won, and UCLA got destroyed, later ramsey

I really enjoyed class on Thursday and Friday. I liked that we took time out to remember the importance and significance of the events that occurred on September 11, 2001. I think the video made a big statement and accurately showed what those people on Flight 93 went through as they prevented another terrorist attack. Also, I liked the discussions we had in class and hearing people's different views on September 11, the election, and the future of America. As I mentioned on Friday, I think it's important for citizens to make informed decisions not only in the coming election, but in other major decisions as well. In doing so we can take the goal we have for 50 years from now and begin working toward it today.

I thought the movie was so sad. It was really well done, and put into perspective that tragic day. However, I know an hour movie can't compare to the 7 years these people have went through that have lost their loved ones. I think we do owe the passengers of Flight 93 more than a thank you now and then or a prayer everyday, but we need to continue what they started. They made history by fighting back and I think we should do the same. And I don't think TN has any shot against FL. Tim Tebow is hot :)but I'm still rooting for UT all the way.

I thought the video was good. It really opens your eyes to what happened on the tragic day. Even though the 40 passengers of Flight 93 didn't know each other they banned together to start the war on terror.

I liked class the past coupla days, expecially the "Shove the whole thing in your mouth at once!" part. Ha. The video was really emotional, I'm not going to lie. I felt that it was a very good documentary and did a good job of portraying what might have gone down on flight 93 that fateful day. As my hopes for 50 years from now may be generic and unrealistic, I hope for world peace. I think we really need to work on finding a new source of energy, cause if you look back, where do the world conflicts come from? Oil. a Russian scientist found a reusable, never ending energy source. Magnetic energy. But will anyone invest in it? no. Because Energy = Power. If everyone has the same amount of energy, who will have the power? What will be used for bartering?

Hope you feel better Ramsey.

Fern.

I thought that class on friday went really well. The movie was alright, but to be honest i get tired of hearing the personal messages left by the people on the plane to their family members. I feel like what they said was meant for their loved ones and no one else. I think that people will always remember September 11, but some details will be forgotten in years to come. Sherweezie Out.

the movie was cool. class was fun on friday and saturday

So I wasn't there Friday, but I did get to watch the video, and it really made me think. It showed me more of what i would expect 9/11 was like, if i had been on the plane. I don't think any of us could ever come close to imagining what it was like on that day, but being able to hear the recordings really brought things into a new perspective. Those people on flight 93 were brave and i'm sure their families still suffer everyday without them. :(

i'm all for the Vols!!

well i think the debate went pretty good even though i just sat there and listened to everybody.. but it was pretty fun! we should do it more often. the movie about 9/11 was really good. it was more personal so we really got to feel what they were sayin instead of just havin people telling us what happened. it was easier to understand what they all were going through at that time.i think we owe them respect and we have to respect what they went through and what theyre families went through! heck yeah the vols have a chance against florida they better be beatin some gator butt... florida sucks!!they beat uab. maybe theyre coming back!!

I really enjoyed the movie. The part when the woman left the message on her husbands answering machine really got to me. I liked how the movie showed what happend to most of the people on the airplane. I am very greatfull for what the 40 passengers did, and I think we should be proud of who we are and stand up for what we believe in. I am pumped to see the game this weekend, Go Vols! I hope your feeling better!

Thursday:I really thought the movie did a good job depicting how it must have felt to be on the planes. It really makes you take a better look at what those people did for us. The passengers definitely deserve respect. 9-11 is not something we should just accept. They could have just sat back and did nothing and let the terrorists kill or injure tons of people but they took a stand and avoided overkill.
Friday: I really enjoyed learning about Rena's culture. It was great that we could all learn an accept something new. You did say our generation was very tolerant so that just prooved your theory. (High five)

Personally, I think we owe quite a bit to those men and women on Flight 93, they went and took the fight to the enemy while we were all still in shock. It is my hope for the future that in fifty years Americans will still behave the way those passangers did on Flight 93, to band together as countrymen regardless of background. Those weren't black or white or hispanic passangers, they weren't catholics or protestants or jews, they were Americans and they died like Americans. In fifty years, I hope this country still dosn't take crap form anybody. I hope in fifty years, terrorists still think twice about attacking a nation built on freedom and unity, to hesitate to threaten a nation who won't just take a beating, but dish one out as well.

I like what Rena was saying and the video was good also. everrything bout thursday and friday was good actually. And gotta have faith in the vols even if its not lookin so good against florida.

I honestly believe the world as we know it won't exist in 50 years. But we should do our best to make sure it does.

I liked having rena talk, I learned a lot!

Well, I thought that class Friday was very interesting. Everyone had a different prespective on 9/11. I think we should honor those on Flight 93 who fought back, like how we honor our soldiers that are fighting in Operation Iraqi Freedom. They were the first to fight.

Hey, I thought the video was pretty forward on what went on. Although I know everyone's already heard the stories time and time again; I personally feel she should always be reminded of their sacrifice. They fought for what they knew was right, and thanks to them, a monumental disaster was avoided. I know there where others that happened that day, obviously, it's just if our country can stop a threat on any level, we can still stand strong. 'Cause we're Americans, and fighting for what we believe in our middle finger to terrorism.

I don't know; just random thoughts.

Ramsey, I don't think there's anyway in hell that the Vols could beat the gators...I'm more a UGA fan, myself, but the Vols don't stand a chance against UF this Saturday. Phil Fulmer is just gonna get booed off the field.

I think that we owe the passengers of Flight 93 a good deal of thanks to an extent.

I think that 50 years from now, we we won't know what to do with ourselves. At the rate we are already advancing technology, we are moving forward very rapidly. It is common knowledge that was wars advance technology even faster and with the situation in the Middle East, war is inevidible. With those two things combined, technology will be so far ahead of where it is now, the world will be unrecognizible to us.

i thought the discussion about 9/11was interesting everyone had different thoughts. the video we watched was real good i like how they put the recordings of the people on the plane.

I believe that the video was a great way to show everybody how the 40 passengers were willing to sacrifice their lives to save others.

I actually enjoyed teaching the class. Now i know how Ram's feels when we dont shut the hell up. haha. I thought the class really was opened minded and really tried to understand other people's culture. The video we watched was really depressing and just showed what probably happened in the plane. I think the passengers on the plane were heroes and should be honored.................by the way..RAMSEY ROCKS....

The video on Thursday was definitely a reminder of what happened on 9-11. A lot of people, as the years pass, have moved on from 9-11, which can be a bad thing. Yes, it's good to move on from tragedies, but US citizens don't need to forget what happened. Honestly, we can't really do anything for the passengers of Flight 93. It happened, and there's nothing we can do now. I think 9-11 should be considered a memorial day for those passengers, but we can't really go back and change the past. And no, I don't think the Vols will win this weekend... Sorry, Coach Ramsey.

I think the movie was good for us all to watch, although it was terribly sad it reminded us what happened which should be done more often.

I think the 40 passangers would want us to fight back just as they had.

i was not here friday but yea buddy
i think that we should not be at war no more i tink we got whatwe needed. its been 6 years what more damage can we do besides make it wors on us???

First, I really enjoyed the video we watched on 9-11. It answered all the questions I had about what happened on Flight 93.

Second, the little ol vols dont have a prayer against SUPERMAN and his gators this weekend.

hey rams sorry i havent been in class for the past 2 days iv been dog sick. you know the kind that it feels like an adventure to get up from your bed and move to your couch. then of course you have to get up and get the remote. well i enjoyed the conversation we had friday with Rena i hope our letters we wrote will get back to people in 50 years so they can hear our stories. and i PRAY that our defense can crush Florida's offense. well see ya tomorrow!

Anonymous said...

well ya see Ramsey... It breaks my heart to tell you that i think florida will when(yawn) because its been years since we have..cough like SHHS fb team cough... sorry we suck... i thought thursday and friday were both GRRRREAT days to actually show up for class...i really wish that in 50 years from now our economy will be at a permenant stability(prob. wont happen). As for the flight 93 kids im not sure as to what they would expect us to do cause im pretty sure all of them would have a different outlook of the situation and would be just like we are right now, in shock...and obviously cant make our minds up on ANYTHING. The US has had its bad times in the past, so im wondering why we are having trouble now. With all of our advances we shouldn't have these problems. People should know by now how to avoid these problems so we dont end up in another Great Depression... which would suck! cause i really cant live without my pedicures!!! lol just messing but i need em cuz my toenails are weird... its complicated.. but i am sooo independant at heart but my parents are full Republicans. dang... i just want this to be alll over with... I cant watch TV without seeing something about the elections. Even on cartoon network!!!! its crazy cuz i guess they are trying to reach out to those old men who live in their parents basement and play video games and watch cartoons all day and think of themselves as a "hero" RAMSEY!!!! lol yea you trekie! o well im out. literally out. peace not war!

Hmmm. First comment. And mine is late.
so...I liked the video. I thought it was pretty inspiring. I think that the passengers of that flight would want us to do our best to stop terrorism, but also to use wise tactics when doing so.

I thought the movie on thursday was interesting because we were able to see what might have happened. The discusion on friday seemed to reach some sort of a conclusion. I think the passengers of this flight would want to fight the war ontour even if they had different views.

well sorry this is commin to u late but im a real busy man and i think that all of those people the plane would like for us to go to war for them bc they gave us americans there lifes to protect us and i just dont understand all of these people that werer for the war but now there just like all antiwar and it just bugs me bc those people had on the plane did it for the safety of the U.S.A not for them but for us and that is all georgebushjr has to say bout that

Anonymous said...

Although I swear this is my second time doing this. I thought the movie was sad and I think the passengers would make the RIGHT choice about this war.

i'd like to start of by saying UT got owned.again.but about things that are important -
i liked rAAAAna's (emphasis on the "freakin" A !) "teaching" as well. i've always liked the way she handles herself in tough environment. i liked the videos but they were really sad, mostly because they were true. but i was glad i got to see them now that i'm old enough to understand what happened. UT isn't going to have a good season.. i'm sorry :) no i'm not.
